Mt Airy Animal Hospital

We’ve been going here about six years for our pets and the staff here are great. They’re attentive, caring, and all around knowledgeable. The fact that they have weekend hours is also a bonus and an online booking portal because sometimes it’s just easier to do it that way in general. They’ve also been great with my one anxious dog Quint who is scared of dogs, the car… basically everything. Finally- they’re priced reasonably and they will tell you whether or not it’s worth spending the money or how to deal with expensive procedures.

Just generally an unpleasant experience calling and using this office, usually related to the front desk staff, but also I feel like the veterinarian gave us some unnecessary medical advice once. there was also a discrepancy in my dogs rabies vaccination, one paper they gave me said it was good for two years, another paper they gave me said it was good for three years. when I called to ask what was correct, they person who answered the phone just read back what was on the vaccination report and assured me that it was fine. I had to explain again that I had that same report, but the actual paper we received the day that he got the vaccine with the lot number and manufacturer said it was good for two years, not three years and that was why I was concerned. I asked for a callback once they could speak to someone with clinical experience about the actual vaccine he received. No one called me back. I am no longer using the veterinarian

Had an interview here like a year ago, and they made me wait an hour and a half until I said I had to leave for a different interview (job search schedule, you know?). Suddenly they had time for me and mostly talked about Marvel vs DC characters and told me it was important for the job that I pick a side. They didn’t ask about my previous experience working with animals but mostly marvel vs dc and also mildly about whether I owned pets. They then asked me to come back for a second interview after this wild and weird first interview. And when I turned down the second interview they sent me an email saying they were actually declining me. Super weird. All in all it was a weird and uncomfortable experience performed by all staff members. Do what you will with that.

The staff was professional. One of the attendants, a male, assisted me by carrying Mousers cage into the exam room. I did wait about 20 minutes, although I was on time. The doctor was proficient. They gave her shots and then eased my mind. She was too 'round' to groom the top of her back, and that is what caused the matted hair. I was also given a great recommendation for a better flea collar. The same attendant also carried Mouser outside for me. I had a favorable experience at MAAH and highly recommend them.
